MTCHWA Policy Manual

The MTCHWA Policy Manual was originally adopted on 3/11/2026 by the MTCHWA Board of Directors. The Policy Manual contains MTCHWA endorsed workforce standards for CHWs in Montana. This includes a: scope of pratice, code of ethics, workforce standards and training standards. These policies were initially created through the CHW Committee that pre-dated the MTCHWA. 

The CHW Committee, formed in 2022 by the University of Montana’s Center for Children, Families and Workforce Development and the MT Area Health Education Center and Office of Rural Health, researched best practice and national standards, worked with a team of CHWs and public meetings to create these recommendations, that were adopted by MTCHWA on 3/11/2026.
