CHW Committee Origin

The Community Health Worker Committee was established in Fall 2023 by the Montana Office Rural Health & Area Health Education Center (MORH/AHEC) and The Center for Children, Family and Workforce Development (The Center).

CHW Committee Goal

The committee meets for a period of 12 months, starting in January 2024, to support development of common Montana standards for the CHW profession. These standards will include a common definition, scope of practice, code of ethics, and training requirements.

CHW Committee Composition

The committee is 100% composed of CHWs and allied workforces. 

This meeting is open to the general public.

Monthly committee meetings will be open to public participation and meeting notes will be posted here. A sub-committee of the workforce meets twice monthly and is invitation only.
